A HELPING HAND

"A Helping Hand" shows famed 101st paratrooper, Lt. Col. Robert Wolverton (C.O., 3rd Bn., 506th PIR), as he helps his battalion surgeon, Capt. Stanley Morgan, suit-up for D-Day. Morgan would survive, whereas Wolverton would make the ultimate sacrifice on D-Day.

This 8 x 10 photo is hand signed in black marker by two 506th PIR D-Day veterans: E-Company paratrooper Brad Freeman and F-Company paratrooper Bob Noody. The photo features a unique vintage design.

MOUNT UP

"Mount Up" shows American paratroopers as they board the C-47 that will drop them into Nazi-occupied Europe. One paratrooper would recall how he felt at such a moment: "I was totally confident in the men we had . . . we were as good as we would ever be."
