“I flew with then 1st Lt. Bush in the Texas
Air Guard at Ellington AFB in the early 70's. I remember one night when we
were out in the Gulf of Mexico, in the high altitude work area, when I lost
my radio during an intercept with George. He rejoined with my aircraft and
led me back to Ellington, where I landed safely. A job well done. It was a
long time ago but I have always remembered that incident.
George was a good pilot, a good guy, and was liked
by everyone. There are a bunch of Navy guys who served with Kerry in Viet
Nam, who have raised all kinds of questions and concerns about his behavior
during that period. I've never known of one person, who knew George in the
Guard who has ever had a negative thing to say about him. He was liked by
everyone and still is.
After getting out of the Texas Air Guard in 1977, I spent 27 and 1/2 years
as a pilot with Continental Airlines. I retired on October 28, 2004. I still
live in the Houston area and I am looking forward to four more years of a
Bush White House.”
