George W. Bush's T-38 Flight Commander

REMEMBERING GEORGE W. BUSH . . . In our Air Force pilot training program the students took the last half of their training in the supersonic T-38. This training included flight by instruments, visual and aerobatic maneuvers, two and four ship formation, and navigation. This was crammed into about 120 hours of flight time, much of it solo. They also took academic (ground school) training that included the subjects of aerodynamics, aviation physiology, aircraft engineering, weather,

BIOGRAPHY Norm Conant, Jr. enlisted in USAF in January 1951. He entered USAF Aviation Cadet Pilot Training in June 1952, at Malden AB, MO where he trained on the North American T-6G Texan. After primary training at Malden AB, he was assigned to Webb AFB, Big Spring, Texas for jet training on the North American T-28 and the Lockheed T-33. <READ MORE>
