REMEMBERING GEORGE W. BUSH . . .
'Bush and I were lieutenants'
Retired Air Force colonel was one of Bush’s flight instructors, Washington Times - George Bush and I were lieutenants and pilots in the 111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS), Texas Air National Guard (ANG) from 1970 to 1971. CAMPENNI IN THE NEWS:
Answering Kerry's Questions
By William Campenni, for the Washington Times - "The recent actions by the swift boat veterans have triggered a vicious reaction by the Kerry campaign against the service of President Bush in the Air National Guard. BIOGRAPHY
Colonel Bill Campenni served 33 years with the Air National Guard in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. Stirred by the false statements made by political and media opportunists which slandered the Air National Guard and those who served in it in the Vietnam area, he has gone on record with cable TV news outlets and the press to put forth the truth of the Guard in those times, and George Bush’s honorable service.

Bill has flown 12 different aircraft in his Guard career, including the F-102, F-105, A-7 and F-16 fighters. He served in Panama (Operation Just Cause) and Vietnam as a Guardsman.

A typical dual career Guardsman, he runs an engineering consulting business today in the Northern Virginia suburbs.
