June 5, 1944, Uppottery Airfield, England . . . Gilded in the evening’s glow, Lt. Richard Winters confers with his “Band of Brothers,” the paratroopers of Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne. Soon, these young men would parachute into German-occupied France, to spearhead Europe’s emancipation. Winters holds a letter from Col. Robert Sink, that states, “Tonight is the Night of Nights. Tomorrow throughout the whole of our homeland and the Allied world the bells will ring out the tidings that you have arrived, and the invasion for liberation has begun.”

Sold-out more than 20 years ago, “We Were a Band of Brothers” is the hardest Easy Company print to find, so we’re especially excited to release for sale what will be the crown jewel in any art collection – a Main Edition autographed by an incredible 19 veterans, including Major Dick Winters!
When these prints were released back in 2003, the top edition included 16 autographs. This print exceeds that number because its previous owner took it to additional Easy Company veterans who signed it, making it truly special. Signing alongside Dick Winters are: “Wild Bill Guarnere,” Buck Compton, Don Malarkey, Forrest Guth, and Clancy Lyall (all depicted in the scene), Shifty Powers, Frank Perconte, Earl McClung, Buck Taylor, Ed Tipper, Rod Strohl, Joe Lesniewski, Ed Shames, Phil Perugini, Ed Joint, and Brad Freeman, as well as C-47 pilot Bud Berry (Bud’s squadron is depicted) and C-47 crewchief Tom Bellitto.
While the print is sold unframed/unmatted, it includes a parachute buckle worn by a 101st paratrooper during a WWII combat jump, a piece of a parachute from D-Day, two photos relating to the drop, 101st & 506th patches, and a Certificate of Authenticity.
