  • Artist Jim Laurier’s hyper-realistic profile depicts the B-17 “Ye Olde Pub” as it appeared at the start of December 20, 1943. During that day’s mission to Bremen, “Ye Olde Pub” was heavily-damaged by flak and fighters. In an act of mercy, Luftwaffe ace Franz Stigler spared the resilient bomber, allowing for its return to England. “Ye Olde Pub” was repaired by April 1944 and ferried back to America, its service complete.
